Project Overview:
Kelly Agency is an amazing marketing and design agency that we partner with to provide Development, Tracking and Analytics support in a White Label capacity.
The problem they faced with their previous website was that it was built on Wordpress using the Divi theme. This had a few drawbacks including site performance, templated layout and design, basic responsiveness and bloated code.
The goal was to build the site of their dreams (literally), as they provided the designs. Because we decided at the start of the project to make use of Webflow, there were no design limitations for the client and they were able to design without making any platform specific concessions.
Approach:
The project brief we received was all about executing the provided designs in a clean, responsive and interactive way that highlights their attention to detail, creative aesthetic and experience.
The design approach of the website was focusing on minimalism, clean layouts, loads of negative space and overall class. Kelly Agency did the website design in-house and it turned out incredibly beautiful. The design uses predominantly black and white for most of the elements while accent elements use seasonal colours and really takes a clean black and white design and makes it pop!
Our approach to development is always to keep our code as semantic and clean as possible while eliminating unnecessary code bloat. For this reason we went with Webflow.com as the website platform. As the client would need to showcase past work, clients, manage a blog and team members, the Webflow CMS was the obvious choice for maintaining site content. We also wanted to incorporate some fun elements so we brought in a few interactive shapes for the home page hero section as well as integrated a typewriter effect on the home page to highlight the core USP's of Kelly Agency. For most of the site animations we used GSAP animation library.
As Kelly Agency does deal with clients from Europe, we also localised the site for German speaking nations into German.
